Our Mission:
It is the mission of the Colorado Kayak Fishing Club (CKFC) to promote and inspire fishing education and conservation in a friendly community environment.
Who we are:
Colorado Kayak Fishing Club is a volunteer run, non-profit 501(c)7 organization.
We started as a small group of friends with a common interest: Kayak fishing. It went from a google group to a facebook group and grew extremely quickly to where we are today. A big Facebook family that helps promote our sport, share ideas, help our community, and foster good healthy friendships.
What we do:
We always had a vision to be able to give back to the community. That vision became a reality with the idea of hosting tournaments. By hosting tournaments, we could help promote our sport and at the same time
make money, which in turn would be donated to a local charity each year!
Charitable Donations:
The CKFC board is proud to have True Patriot Outfitters (TPO) for our 2023 charity! TPO is dedicated to giving back to our veterans, first responders, and gold star families. They do this through the means of taking these heroes on outdoor adventures right here in Colorado! TPO has proved to be more than just a charity too, as the foudner Gene Campbell is also dedicated to give back to the club in a variety of ways. 2022 was a special year as CKFC was celebrating its tenth year anniversary! In light of this occasion, the goal was for the club to donate ten times our original donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Denver. It was a grind to make this happen, but in the end we met our goal!
The 2021 CKFC Donation is going to Brent’s Place and with your help we were able to donate $5000 to this great organization! YOU GUYS ROCKED IT THIS YEAR!! The 2020 CKFC Donation is going to Colorado Youth Outdoors and with your help we were able to send almost $3100 to help out this great organization! We made the donation through the Colorado First Foundation on Colorado Gives Donations Day which allowed our a percentage of our donation to be matched through the Colorado Incentive Fund. Colorado Youth Outdoors mission is building relationships through traditional outdoor recreation that includes fishing, archery, camping, shooting sports, and nature play. The 2019 CKFC donation was given to Project Healing Waters! We donated $2400 to this great organization! Project Healing Waters provides physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities, including education and outings. https://projecthealingwaters.org/
The 2018 CKFC donation went to The Initiative! We were able to donate $2000 to this great organization! The Initiative organization focuses on helping disabled individuals that are at risk or in abusive situations find safety. http://www.theinitiativecolorado.org/
In 2017, CKFC donated $800 to Patriot Anglers. That donation was used to help support U.S. Military families both past and present, by providing a unique rocky mountain fishing experience. https://www.patriotanglers.us/
Our first donation was made to the Boys and Girls Club of Denver in 2016. We were able to donate $875. That $875 donation was used to feed 2000 kids for a full week during their summer lunch program! https://www.bgcmd.org/
