2019 AOY Winners

*** alex rojas ***

You have to be very versatile to compete consistently in the multi-species series.  In one tournament you could be fishing for bass and walleye at one event, then chasing pike and trout at the next event.  It takes planning and a solid strategy to compete in this series.

Enter Alex Rojas, he has the planning and strategy down.  He finished the 5 events with strong finishes:  1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th.  The cumulative score gave him the points to win the 2019 Angler of the Year.

CKFC’s first person to win AOY twice (2016, 2019)!  Congrats to Alex Rojas!

2019 CKFC Bass series ANGLER OF THE YEAR

*** Jim Strawbridge ***

In 2019, CKFC had 86 people enter a bass tournament.  We fished for Smallmouth, Largemouth and Spots.  Every lake had it’s challenges.  We had 4 events and took the top 3 finishes (dropped the worst one).

At the end of season, one person beat this very stacked and skilled competition.  That person did it only fishing 3 of the events.  So he had to be great all the events he fished…and he did!

Congratulations to Jim Strawbridge!  He had no room for error.  He made every cast and every decision count. It was a very close battle for AOY, but in the end Jim out-fished everyone! Again, congrats to Jim on an outstanding season!
