2016 Fishing Plans: Fish the multi-species CKFC events, travel to Lake Of The Ozarks in MO, Lake McConaughy in NEB and try to fish in some of the neighboring kayak club events, perhaps western Kansas and Nebraska.

Advice to Young/New Anglers: Find the local waters near your house. Fish them often and you will find the  good days and times.  There are some near me that much of the time you will swear don't have any fish in them but when you are there at the right time, you will be amazed.  Use small  light tackle for panfish.  Fish for carp.  All the lakes have them.  They are often the largest, hardest fighting fish in the lake and they bite almost every day all summer long. Landing them will necessarily inform you of correctly setting your drag and proper techniques for fighting strong fish. Don't reel against your spinning reel drag, it twists your line.  Don't brag about a hot bite if you want to protect your lake and catch, photo, release (CPR).
