Angler Profile Chad Simcox

Name:  Chad Simcox
Kayak Type: Jackson Big Tuna

ProStaff/Sponsor Affiliations: none

Favorite Species: Largemouth Bass

Favorite Fishing Technique: It seems like I have a new go to technique every year, but I love pitching to
cover with jigs or T-rig plastics. Not much in fishing beats that moment between the thump and
setting the hook.

2016 Fishing Plans: My plan was to take a top 5 finish in AOY to qualify for the Tournament Of Champions and win at least one tournament. I accomplished both of those this season. Non-tournament fishing goals are to catch Lake Trout from the kayak and take a Kokanee on a fly during their fall spawning run. And of course, help to build the sport of Kayak Fishing in Colorado.

Advice to Young/New Anglers: Fish as much as you can and discover the tactics that you find the most fun; then experiment with how you can modify them to be even more productive for you. Dont be afraid to ask questions and be open to feedback. I also think it really helps to have another passion that you pursue, its a good idea to spend your time between a few activities to help prevent burn out.
